    Nice photo! They are such stunning birds. Bully woodpeckers is what they are called at our cabin though. Not know for sharing. They nested in a birch tree w/hole created by Pileated; and proceeded to scare away from my feeders each & every bird. Only the Hummers were unaffected.But the experience of having them on our small property was well worth the hassle. Enjoyed seeing this one on the ground in your photo. Interesting to see them in a different position.
